Down to only thirteen days before we leave for the states. . . eeek!
Day fourteen highlights:
- "play date" (i feel really dumb using that term) with our little friend Hannah--lots and lots of cuteness and sharing of toys and giving of kisses
- i still didn't bathe my child, but thankfully her daddy did!
Because that's about all I got done from the list, let's change the subject to my cute child, shall we?
- on Monday her two bottom middle teeth broke through! yipee! hope she's not teething in 13 days while we are on a ridiculously long journey and on many airplanes. . .
- on Tuesday she sat in a high chair for the first time--so fitting that it happened in Chili's, while watching the World Cup! The world cup is VERY big here and you know when someone has scored even if your tv is off. Because of the air horns and the fireworks. I love this place. I'm going to miss everyone being so NOISY all the time!
Maya experiencing the high chair for the first time (and enjoying carrots)
Chili's all decked out in World Cup glory and Maya making my favorite face (it's the only time we see her neck).
Maya ignoring us--mesmerized by the players on the big big screen.
Am loving the countdown. Don't worry about not bathing the baby - Hannah has gone probably longer than any human should without a bath at times, and she's alive and well :) The play date was a highlight for us! Good luck getting everything else done that you need to get done.
ReplyDeleteI wish Kevin could be there for all the World Cup hoopla..he's been hand drawing flags of all the countries competing.. he would love all the honking and decorations! Instead of packing up all the food, why not invite friends over and have them shop your cupboards for stuff they can use? then you can eat out for the remaining 13 days???? Press on with that list sister! Love you!
ReplyDeletenot packing up food. using it up and giving it away. we've been eating out some, but i need to save money for shopping in america! we've also eaten at chili's TWICE this week, shame shame on us. but it's the only place we know of where the commentating for the world cup games are in english and that just makes it so fun!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the show-your-neck face. She's so sweet. You're going to miss the noise, eh? Just thought I'd remind you that you're spending half of your stateside term with Huebners...there will be plenty of noise ;)
ReplyDeleteLISA-hah! I forget, we can be a noisy crowd, can't we? I guess I was just thinking of the quiet country landscape versus the congested city landscape. Sometimes we can hear people in the apartments across the street from us on their balcony (they have a son who likes to have his friends over and they hang out on the balcony all night long talking and playing games). Often, we will hear a baby cry and then have to listen closely to see whether it's ours or not! So I guess I will be surprised by the Huebner noise but also by the quiet of the surrounding area?
ReplyDeleteI need to point out that you said -i love this place", like without thinking....or making yourself say it, but without even thinking, you just threw it in there. That's pretty great. Like its home. :)
ReplyDeleteMegs--it really is home. It's crazy and sometimes really confusting, but we really do love it. It is beautiful. It is fun. It is never boring. You should come visit sometime :).
