While You Were Gone
We went on a wonderful marriage retreat last weekend in Colorado and we came back to this:

Megs!
The Inchworm Crawl
Maya is officially Inchworm crawling! According to Nana, she started yesterday in the nursery, but today, we've seen her inching all over the living room. So far, she is most motivated to crawl to either an electric cord, a laptop, or a tower of stacking cups (which she demolishes each time). For weeks we've been encouraging her and trying to teach her to crawl. Now that she's crawling, we've realized, it's the end of the world as we know it. . .

Pink Hippo
This is a shameless photo shoot of my (adorable) child. I couldn't help it. It was one of those times when I could see the pictures in my head and I had to do a quick shoot (and someone with a decent camera was nearby so I had the chance to shoot them). Whenever she wears this bathing suit, for some reason, I always think of a pink hippo.

8 Months Old
Maya turned 8 months old on the 4th. She is so much fun right now. She is curious and she's very interactive with us. She can't quite get crawling yet, but she scoots on her belly and loves to be "walked around". She likes to climb on things and people, too. She chatters and loves to waller with her daddy. She has been having a blast here in Kansas with lots of family loving on her.

Tomorrow, Tomorrow
Tomorrow, after three and a half long long years, I will see my little sister. I will also get to see my little brother, and my parents. It's only been a few months since I saw my parents, and a year and a half since I saw my bro. Words cannot describe. Maybe someone in the group will be sane and sound enough to grab some pics, but I doubt it. Imagining the scene tomorrow, I remember this one time when I lived in Georgia and I made an unplanned visit to Kansas and got to be at the airport when Blee (my sister's nickname) arrived home from a trip to East Asia and didn't expect me to be there--she did this little hop-skip-run in place thing that I've only seen on cartoons. I think we might all be doing a little of that tomorrow. Even though I've seen my brother and parents more recently, it feels like forever, and Kev will be meeting Maya for the first time like Blee, so there's a lot of excitement building up to this moment. Either Wednesday or Thursday, we'll also be having a sweet reunion with my older brother, my sister-in-law, and my two nieces!!! (Will someone tell me when that is actually going to happen?) I haven't seen them in three and a half years either, and this will be our first time to meet the smaller hobbit, even though she's like 2 1/2! I may have trouble sleeping tonight, and the two flights tomorrow are going to feel soooo slow!
