This weekend we went camping!!! One of our friends discovered a place outside of town, up in the mountains called El
Rancho where you can camp, ride horses, have a bonfire, and even eat "ranch food"! One of our dear friends is leaving this week, and it was her birthday this weekend (and she's an American Indian which made it so much more fun!!) so we went to celebrate her and just to have a good time. The whole place was decorated with cowboys and
indians, and they even had a real life
indian there teaching people about
indian culture. It was really fun, and quite surreal at the same time--it was hard to believe that we were here in the Middle East, camping, listening to country music and roasting marshmallows over a bonfire!!
That is hysterical! Bizarro! Weird! But you had the hats to make it work! The tents look nice, but was the rock kind of hard? Did you make s'mores? The fun never stops around there!
ReplyDeletethe tents were pitched on concrete slabs but we rented cots, so it was quite comfy. i even got cold and ended up renting a sleeping bag! i was so relieved, b/c i thought i was going to be too hot to sleep. glorious mountain air! they built a bonfire for us and we roasted 'mallows and made smores. it was a lot of fun. they also had a pretty nice place to eat about a five minute walk down a really steep hill (which was not so fun to hike back up, but prego and all, i made it). all of the food was named after different famous western movies.
ReplyDeleterandom. so so random. but great. matt looks very natural and paternal. is that the correct usage of that word?
